We'll tell you: not having to drag a trailer around with a second set of wheels and tires on it. Why hassle with storing a trailer and paying additional turnpike tolls for the extra axle? You definitely don't want to stack wheels covered with brake dust in the passenger seat or squeeze them into the trunk. The TireTail™ was designed to eliminate the hassles associated with trailers and make it safe and easy to transport those competitive R compounds to and from driving events. Construction The TireTail™ is engineered to safely carry four wheels with tires and quickly mounts/dismounts using your car’s trailer hitch (if hitch is rated at 200 lb tongue weight or better.) Construction is heavy gauge steel tubing with dressed welds and a durable powdercoat finish. Wheel centers are protected from marring using a PVC sleeve and wheels are held secure with zinc plated washers and D-wire locking pins. The TireTail™ can easily accommodate most wheel sizes, offsets and tire widths. Safety Safety was the most important factor when we designed the TireTail™. It is extremely stable at high speeds or on rough roads and will not flex side to side when cornering. Your vehicle's tail lights remain clearly visible, and in most cases, you can see the tires in your rear view mirror. Trunk access is unaffected by using the TireTail™. Your valuable wheels and tires can be securely locked together using the optional Kryptonite™ cable lock through the wheels along with a locking hitch pin to secure the TireTail™ to the car. The TireTail™ is simply the perfect solution for hauling competition wheels and tires to and from driving events! TireTail Setup The TireTail™ is simple to use. First time use requires two 1/4" holes drilled in the crosstube for the wire locking pins in order to accommodate the many variables in tire/wheel widths. Not to worry, your TireTail™ will be shipped with clear instructions for first time setup.
